Social media is a diverse landscape. Different platforms have their own differing aspect ratios and requirements; Thumbnails have to be readable and effective at different sizes and crops!

Different Platforms, Different Formats

Some platforms are more likely to be viewed on desktop, where your standard horizontal 16x9 video is king. Others are viewed almost exclusively on mobile, where taller, vertical 4x5 or 9x16 reign supreme. Videos have to be made with their destination in mind, and often in multiple formats.
